Southeastern Massachusetts Educational Collaborative: Alternative Learning Classroom: SMEC is a public education collaborative established serving Acushnet, Fairhaven, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Rochester and Old Rochester Regional public schools in Massachusetts. The Collaborative's programs and services are locally based and locally directed and are designed to supplement the special education resources of its member districts. SMEC offers a variety of services for students with special needs aged 3-21 as well as adults with developmental disabilities. The Collaborative also offers professional development opportunities for educational staff. SMEC is a member of the Massachusetts Organization of Education Collaboratives.

7/5/11: Our Transitional Services and Adult Day Health Programs have moved! Transitional Services is now located at 4238 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford and 271 Alden Road in Fairhaven. The Adult Day Health Program is now located on the first floor of our 12 Welby Road location in New Bedford. Phone numbers for each program remain the same.
