SMEC's Specialized Elementary Educational Development (SEED) Program meets the academic, behavioral and social/emotional needs of students in grades 1-4. The program utilizes a highly structured setting with behavior management supports and a strong focus on improving social/emotional skills and self-esteem. Students are provided with strategies to adapt and overcome deficits in social skills, attending and impulse control.

Academics are based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks and, whenever possible, instructional materials from the student's home school district are used to facilitate transition back to the public school. All students in grades 3 or above participate in MCAS testing.
